House

The search is over I have found me a place to live!!!! It is very awesome. It is a 3 bedroom house with a yard, hardwood floors, a wonderful kitchen, ceramic tile, and a huge master closet, a yard, and it is only a few blocks from work!!! I have a few pictures but there will be more to come in the future. I will be moving in the next few weeks.

These are a few pictures from my classroom. The first one is a look from the front, the second one is my traits of writing wall, the third one is my inspiring quote, "If better is possible then good isn't enoug," the fourth one is an example of my students work, we made coats of arms for each class, they got to pick two colors, and an animinal that showed an attribute of our class. This class picked an elephant because he has a long trunk to suck up the knowledge and put it in his brain and elephants live together and work together like a family. They are so smart! The last one is a veiw of the other half of the classroom from the front.

Yay! I'm a teacher and I love it. It is the best job in the whole world! I am so glad I finally found where I belong. I got through my first week teaching with very few problems. I have such an awesome supportive staff at my school, they are always there to jump in and help me at any time. Before school started they decided that I could handle teaching both 7th and 8th grade English, and one of my mentor teachers decided that I should be in charge of the National Jouinor Honors Society! It's a challenge but I am definately up for it! This is my favorite time of the year, fall tempratures are coming, the trees will be turing into beautiful works of art from God, and of course Football is here! Here is my top ten list.

1 Texas Tech Why? Duh! Because they are awesome!
2 Texas A&M Why? Because they are not afraid to get the sense knocked out of them because they don't have just a whole lot to knock out!
3 Texas Why? Because they are so ugly that everybody else will be running the other way and lose but us Texas teams are used to their unsightliness so we will triumph.
4 USC Because their Mascot also rides on a horse but he wears a skirt.
5 Florida Why? Gatorade: it will help them this year. But not enough to be better than Tech.
6 Ohio State Why? Their colors are red and black close to Tech's scarlet and black but not close enough.
7 Oklahoma Because Far and Away is one of my favorite movies.
8 Auburn Becasue I went to kindergarten in Alabama.
9 Nebraska Because their mascot always smiles, even after we beat them 70-10 in 2004.
10 Oregon Because The Mascot Quacks! and my Nephews live in Oregon!
So we will see how I do. Well it is time for church! Talk to everybody later!
Love You!
Stacy

I went and picked up the keys to my room yesterday! More pictures to come after I have finished decorating. This is only one half. Pretty awesome! I'm a teacher!!!
That's right....room 208!

View of my room.

Yesterday I decided that it was my day off I was going to Farmersville. A cute little town North of Wylie.
Just thought this was a pretty church downtown.
This is Blevin's Gallery, apparently it is one of the largest Thomas Kinkade Gallries around. Mr. Blevin's is good friends with "Tom" and his wife. Pretty neat!
This Is called the Onion Shed they have a flea market here every fist Saturday. The ladies from the antique shop seem to think that this is a party every month. I think I will go check it out next time.
This is a cute Little Antique shop downtown. I bought myself an antique green apple paperweight to celebrate my new room! Her is a picture of the Sugar Hill Cafe. It had a cute little store attached and they had beautiful dishes from Germany for sale!

What's up

Hello All! I thought it was about time to log in and let you all know everything that is going on! First of all most excellent news...I AM A TEACHER!!! That's right Only 1 year and 6 months after committing myself to teaching I got a job! Not only A job but THE job. I am an 8th grade English teacher for Wylie's Burnett Jr. High. Just goes to show that when you fully give something up to God and trust in him it will be perfect! I start that job on the 27th of August. In the meantime my summer job is AWESOME!! I am a marketing assistant for a beautiful mall. It is an outside mall you know the kind you go in a store an then go back outside in the sun to get to the next store. They have a nice little park and a big fountain and everything. At the moment we are planning a HUGE 4th of July party. I am doing things like ordering chairs, making signs, I am fully in charge of the Food Court, setting up fun things for the kids like bounce houses, face painting, balloon making and more. Everyday I am here at work they tell me how awesome I am at my Job! They even tried to talk me out of teaching..HAH. And everyday that I am not here they call me in because they want my help! Next week I will be going to teacher classes in the mornings, new hire orientation/classroom management I am very excited about these I am going to get to meet 20 other teachers that are new to Wylie. I am hoping to start teaching a Sunday School class soon also! It is going to be called the 20 someones and will be at Wylie First Baptist church if you want to come! More details to come on that one. My sister Trish just bought a house!!! It is very cute! My other Sister Jennifer and her beautiful family are all going to Estonia in July for 3 months so I will be sure to keep this updated for them especially! If you haven't seen the movie Pursuit of Happiness you should it is an awesome movie...just FYI. OK that is all for now!

Long time no talk

OK I am back again. The school year is coming close to an end and I have been very busy with working and job searching a lot. I have a very promising interview with the principal at the school that I have been working with a lot this year. He said it will either be next week or the week of memorial day! I had an interview on Monday with a Plano school. I think I did well but it is not my ideal place to work. When the interviewers said..."we don't want to ask you those cheesy questions about teaching philosophy, discipline in a classroom, or anything else related to teaching," I knew this was going to be interesting. The biggest question they asked was about what I do in my free time...Then they explained to me how they do not stay late, or put any extra effort into what they teach. I know that is not the place for me. Lets hope that I get the job I know is right for me. Had a great weekend with my family I went to Graham and relaxed and went to the Wild Catter...mmmm...then we went to down town Ft. Worth and ate some Mexican food, at a great place Trish picked out, on Mother's Day. It was awesome. Anyways keep my interview in your prayers I will be reporting hopefully sooner than later!

Monday, March 19, 2007

Well this weekend I went to the Plano ISD Job fair. I think it went really well! I don't have any interviews yet but I for see some in the next few weeks. One principal told me after talking to me that I am going to make a wonderful teacher! I wrote my follow up letters and e-mailed them out today. I can't wait to see the feedback I get in the next few days! We started back to school today after a wonderful spring break. Things are still going awesome there. I think my kids are starting to get more motivated everyday! Well that is all for today here are some pictures from the arboretum that I took.

Beautiful Flowers!

Here are the BEAUTIFUL flowers Jen Roma Aleks and Luka sent me they smell wonderful!!!

Start of a new blog

OK so in the past I have had many web sites, blogs, my spaces and whatever other kind of keep up with Stacy kind of Internet doohickey I could find. This one seems to be the easiest to sign into real quick and type something. SO I am starting out my 24th birthday with a new way to keep up with me and this time I plan to stick to it. School was awesome today, my students decorated my board with Happy Birth day Ms. Bristow all day long. Tonight I am going out to dinner with my very best friends Marsha and Ryan (eliana too). That is all for today, I am going to try out the new picasa picture poster thingy so that I can put pictures on this blog too. Ta Ta for now.
