weeee!

School is out! What a wonderful feeling! I have decided that summer is not for the students to have a break from the school work, but for the teachers to have time to recover from the craziness!

I have a busy summer ahead of me, it all started last night with the very awesome George Strait and Reba concert. It was at the new Dallas Cowboy's Stadium! We had an awesome time. I have posted some of the pictures from that.

The next thing on my agenda is a little trip to GREECE! I am super excited and ready to go!! When I get back I have a couple of classes to attend, then it is home to spend a VERY short time with Jennifer, Roma, and the Boys before they go back to Portland.

After that I will jump on getting ready for next year. I have a lot of awesome things going on at work! I will be teaching a few Pre-AP 8th grade classes!! t really is a huge compliment for my boss to pick me for this position, it shows that he has great confidence in my teaching ability. I just hope I can do it! I am not sure what else I will be teaching, I have 6 classes total and pre-ap takes up two.

I also have been asked by the district to be a facilitator at the beginning of the year orientation for the district! I will be helping teach teachers some new stuff we will need for the next year!! This was also a huge compliment coming from the head of the language arts department for the district!

Anywho, I have a little summer job tomorrow taking some pictures. So I better get some sleep!

Relay For LIFE!

This weekend I participated in the Wylie Relay for Life. I raised $250 this year! Thank you for donating!!! Next year I want to raise $500, so start saving! The relay is a very rewarding experience. Our team alone raised $3,877. All together Wylie raised over $90,000. We are going for over $100,000 next year. I have embedded a video with my pictures from the night. I walked 14 miles in 12 hours! I have a busy week shaping up this week. Tomorrow night is the finals for our volleyball team we are in fourth place!!!! (only out of five teams :P) This weekend I will be traveling to Graham for cousin's wedding! I am so excited, I feel like I haven't been to Graham in forever!!

Busy Busy Busy

Things are flying now! I have tons going on. Last weekend I had an awesome experience in Waco at Church Under the Bridge. CUB is a place right next to the Baylor campus that serves as a church to anybody who wants to come. We went down and stayed in a volunteer house. On Sunday morning we found our way to the bridge right across the street from Baylor. There around 200 homeless people waited in line for coffee, and a meal. After helping give out the food, and water we had church. It was very cool being out under I-35 with semi-trucks blazing above while we prayed. That is what the pictures are from.

Tomorrow night I have my NJHS induction, Friday night is our Relay for Life walk. we came in 5th place out of 60 teams in donations raised. Thank you for donating!!! Saturday night I am going to see Steele Magnolias in McKinney, next weekend is Lacy's wedding, then the weekend after that is Mother's day, followed by the weekend of Trish's housewarming!! Lots of awesomeness happening.

I think that Shelly and I have changed our minds about our travel. I believe we have decided to go to Greece instead!!! We are still waiting for her time off to be approved but It probably will be! I am super excited about this. I guess that is all for now.

Should I stay or should I go?

Shelly works with a lady named Mary, who travels to London a lot (her husband lives there) Mary is going this summer, the Monday after I am done with school. She wants us to come with her. She is paying for the hotels we just have to get food, plane tickets, and spending money. Shelly said if I need to she can pay for my ticket and I can take it off the rent $100 at a time. I can afford it but I am going to Portland this summer for sure so that may make it a little tight. So I like the Shelly plan, and if it turns out I can afford it I will just pay her back faster. We are also going to Valencia, Spain for $45 Sooo what do you think...should I stay or should I go?

Life is greatness...

Things that get better with age...
1. Cheese
2. Sheets (more cuddly)
3. Families
4. Fruit Trees
5. Friendships
6. Casseroles (before they get moldy)
7. Wine
8. Stacy's Life

Yes, I am finding with each year new abundant blessings are poured down upon my life. This year is no different. We started off the year with a bang. Daddy started his new job, Jennifer started a new life (Nicholi's life), Trish is starting a new Journey with her engagement, I started a new car, and hopefully soon Momma will be starting lots of new things!!

Yes, Lefty is gone. She was a good ol' car but it was time to move on. I bought a 2007 Saturn Aura!! I looooove it! It has everything I could dream of, sunroof, a place for my ipod, leather seats, and most importantly BOTH windshield wipers work!!! WOOT! It is perfect.

This week I will be getting a new roommate! This will offset the cost of the car which is great. Her name is Shelly, she is an x-ray tech at a hospital near by. I have a feeling that we will have a lot of fun together. She is the one in the picture from the Roger Creager concert. We already have tickets to the George Strait/Reba concert at the new stadium in June!!! We also are playing volley ball on Monday nights right now and when that is done we will probably go back to Monday night tennis. Great fun.

I just took some pictures for a good friend of mine at the arboretum. She got engaged a while ago but we wanted to do her photos at the arboretum during the Dallas Blooms so we went there. I am now the proud owner of a membership for the arboretum!! This means that any day I can get up to six people in with me for free. So Trish whenever you are ready for some engagement photos I have a plan and some practice. We can even take your picture in front of a pirate ship...oooOOOooo.

My kiddos did really well on the TAKS test. I had 93% passing and the rest of them were really close. They will pass the next round!

Keep praying for my friend Marsha's baby. He is doing okay right now but they are thinking they are going to have to go back in for a surgery soon. (juneish) He has a variety of different problems and the doctors can't seem to figure out the deal. Please go and read her caringbridge web blog and sign her guestbook for some encouragement. The link is... http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/xanderthomaswade and her and her husband Ryan check it daily for words of prayer and encouragement.

Other than that I have been trying to stay busy...I have been going to a few concerts, working on plans for school, playing a few sports, and loving life. I hope to get out and visit Jennifer soon!! I can't wait to see Nicholi, I am thinking sometime in my vacation months...(I love teaching) :) That's all I got how'd ya like that? Love you all!!

Great Weekend!

I had an awesome weekend! Like I said in my last post it started with a wonderful night at the symphony with my sister Trish. Last night I made it out to the PBR with some friends from church, we had a blast I have some pics of what we saw. Today I topped it off with some down time with my best buds the Wades.

On our ride home on the DART I found out that Eastfield College near Dallas has a great teacer program...however I do not recommend going there to become a teacher.

Update yo...

Last time I "blogged" was the day before Trish's birthday...I have been busy okay!!

On Trish's birthday we went out and had a wonderful evening. My parents were in town and we had so much fun together! We went to Dodies, on the Harbor, and then to Fireside Pies for some drinks and desserts.

For Christmas Trish bought me tickets to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. I went tonight with Trish, Jeremy, and Jeremy's friend Jason. First, we went to the Blue Marlin and had yummy pasta. Then we were headed for a great time and a little adventure. This was the first time any of us had been to a real symphony. We had front row seats, apparently this is not a good thing, we were sooo close the drummer and violinist told us we should sneak into the balcony during the second act, so we did. They were right the sound was much better from up there!

Thanks for the dinner and tickets Trish!! It was great fun! :)

Now it is time to go and get some rest because tomorrow I am gong to the PBR at the American Airline Center! Great fun! :)

Goodbye old year. Happy New Year!!!!

We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential.

Happy new year to all. Of course I am a little late in posting but what can I tell you it wouldn't be Stacy's world if I were on time.

I had an awesome time with my family over the holidays. I went to Graham and relaxed a while, helped Daddy move out of the old office and into the new. Relaxed some more and had lots of great fun. We decided this year to break from tradition and have steak on Christmas day instead of Turkey. Was it weird, with steak that good there was no room for weird! Anywho Christmas was wonderful!

I was lucky enough to ring in the new year with some new friends. We had an awesome time playing games, watching movies, and eating yummy sweets at my friend Cassie's house. It was great fun.

A few days later I was able to meet up with some of my old college buddies. (look at me sounding all old and stuff) We went to the Cotton Bowl. We arrived in the parking lot at around 9 a.m. The game didn't start until two but that did not mean the festivities had to wait until then! We had a good time catching up and cooking out. Wish I could say our team did a great job and we celebrated a victory, but my Red Raiders lost, and we celebrated other things instead while we waited for the traffic to clear out.

Now I am back in the grove of school, still loving teaching. Right now we are finishing up our first semester. Mid term exams are next week! After that it is on to learning about tolerance, TAKS practice, The Outsiders, Tom Sawyer and much more.

I got a new camera for Christmas and am still trying to figure things out. I have a few picture posted here and the rest are on my picasa. I have some video of that amazing Goin' Band From Raider Land too. Someday I will have time to sit down and figure out how to post video that doesn't take day to load. Until then deal with the pictures!

I hope everybody has started their new year out with a bang. Lets have a fabulous 2009!!
