Project

Functional flowers! They are kind of like an El Camino... Car in the front and a truck in the back... Flower on the top and pen underneath. Or maybe like a mullet business in the front party in the back...

Sunday Evotional

The kingdom of God is here and now. When you become a Christian you join the KOG.

Has Jesus cost you everything yet? If not you are not paying a big enough price. Living for Jesus should consume you. (don't take this the wrong way, it doesn't mean that you have to be a lonely homeless person being a hermit in your cardboard box house to be a Christian.)

Joy- Jesus others you (how to obtain true joy)

Sometimes when you read the Bible... You have to do what it says. (duh)

Question yourself..
Can I do this in the Glory of God?
Does this disappoint others?
Do I have doubt?

Dealing with disappointment

You will have disappointment in your life. If you are a follower of Christ things happen for a reason. Don't let disappointment cause you to be afraid to follow your heart or cause a lack of faith in God's plans for you.

Faith and fear are directly correlated.

Fear= lack of faith?

What are you holding back on because of fear?

Within the book of Philippians joy comes up 17 times. (in a short book written from jail) Paul was faithful and did not fear what was to come, therefore he was able to rejoice always.

I struggle with this because human nature and instinct cause fear. I think there are different kinds of fear. Could it really be that Paul was 100% fearless after committing to Jesus? I believe that he knew that whatever happened was for the Glory of God, but, even knowing that, I think any human would have to have some kind of unavoidable, earthly, instinctive fear of the here and now. Is it the expectation that we live life without fear? Is that even possible?

Daniel= old man
Gina= dance party

When you grasp the grace of God, circumstances no longer matter, no matter how big or small your sin is your mandate is to rejoice in the lord always.

I had a wonderful time in Oregon with my family! We stayed very busy and got a good glimpse into the life of my sister. I am so happy I got to spend some time with my precious nephews and wonderful sister and bro-in-law, and my parents! We visited many palces from snow capped mountians, to waterfalls in the gorge, to the peaceful beach. The weather was perfect the whole time we were there. The high in Oregon was cooler than the low in Texas! Shout out to my other sister Trish and bro-in-law Jeremy for keeping Harley for me! :)

Portland trip!

Today my mom and I made the long trip to Oregon! We left Dallas on a very small plane to connect to our flight in Houston. It wasn't too bad though because it was a short flight. I was a little worried when we arrived at Houston because we did not have assigned seats on the plane. As soon as we found our gate we checked in and they gave us our boarding passes, the only seats left were seats in the middle of a 3 seat row, not together. We asked if There was anything we could do and the attendant said no, but told us to check back with her. After checking back a couple of times she decided to give us the exit seats!!! These are the best seats to have because they give a lot of leg room. It was a very nice flight.

When we arrived we had two very handsome gentlemen waiting on us (Roma and Aleks) with some beautiful flowers! We made our way to Jen and Rom's place, had some tea, ice cream, and a nice chat, and then we found our spots to sleep!

Church

Just a few things I got from church today....

God called us to be fishers of men not cleaners of fish.

Ginacooperworship.com rocks!

Greg and Michelle went to the best University in Texas.

Man may know the path of his life but it's the Lord who knows the footsteps.

My God is in a box...stupid box.

Whole Living

In preparation of my trip to Oregon and with encouragement from my sister Trish, I have decided to start blogging about a change in my lifestyle. I am going to make a strong effort to live healthy. Now, I know I have tried this before and have always reverted back to unhealthy things, but if I don't keep trying I will never succeed.

Does this mean that I am giving up all plastic and will only eat eggs from a farm that gives it's chickens spa treatments, or that I will go to the farm that raises my beef and make sure that my cow is treated okay and thank it in advance for the nutrients I will get from it's life? No, but I can make vow to not eat McDonalds ever again and limit eating out to special occasions and fun with friends. It means that I can make a trip to a grocery store that promotes and inspires healthy living once a week, and try to make healthy foods easily available to myself. It means that I can start a healthy fitness routine. It means a lot.

I will still drink my coffee, watch my favorite shows, use plastic wrap at times, wear deodorant, and even play on my IPhone, but I am not a slave to any of those things. (except the deodorant, Texas summers are brutal)

I have 39 days of summer left and I plan to enjoy them, that means not making plans every day, not volunteering for things that will constrain my time, (don't worry I volunteer for plenty during the school year) just hanging out with friends and family, reading, relaxing, and even doing a little work (believe it or not this is something I enjoy doing).

I have realized that for this to really work I need to do for myself, my way, and in my time. So, if you have other plans for how I should be living my life...delete them. :)
